Happening NOW through June 5th:
The Associates Mentoring Program is holding a donation drive for three local domestic violence shelters. Please drop off toiletries and household items, such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, tampons, hair brushes, etc. at the Girls Inc. office! The participating girls will deliver the items on June 7th.
CommuniCARe News:
The Girls Inc. CommuniCARE team, GirlzCARE, raised $560, which was matched at $8,360 by the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation. Our young philanthropists presented the following checks at the Awards Ceremony held on May 10th at the Portland Art Museum:
$2,430 - The Healing Roots Center
$2,430 - Juvenile Rights Project
$3,500 - Girls Inc. After School Programs

CommuniCARE Awards Ceremony - Portland Art Museum
“CommuniCARE” introduces young people to the importance of community service and the role of nonprofit organizations in the state of Oregon and in their local communities. Through the grant-making process students not only make needed contributions to nonprofit organizations, but also experience the reward of helping others.
GirlzCARE, the Girls Inc. CommuniCARE group, will present checks to the Healing Roots Center, the Juvenile Rights Project, and Girls Inc. of NW Oregon.

Girls Take Off! - Ropes Course with Adventures Without Limits
Girls will experience the sense of accomplishment, pride, and team work as they work together on lower and upper ropes courses and various field games. Check out Adventures Without Limits to learn more about this great partner!

End of the Year Celebration
All girls who have participated in Girls Inc. groups are invited to join us at the Mt. Scott Community Center for a pizza and skating party. The festivities start at 5PM and will last until 7:30PM. It is sure to be a great time!

Girls Take Off! - Rock Climbing at Club Sport
Girls Inc. will head out to Club Sport's climbing wall to participate in a supervised program providing our young climbers the opportunity to learn basic techniques and meet others in a non-competitive and FUN atmosphere.
